Card condition guide

McCoy’s Memorabilia does its best to describe each card accurately and provide clear front-and-back photos of the exact card you’ll receive. If you ever feel a description didn’t match what you got, reach out — we’ll make it right.

Raw (ungraded) cards

Raw cards are described by eye. We use the categories below.

  • Near Mint
Sharp corners, clean surface, no creases. Centering may be slightly off but cosmetically excellent.
  • Excellent
Light corner wear under close inspection. Surface clean, no creases. Very strong eye appeal.
  • Very Good
Visible corner wear, mild surface marks, possibly a small print mark. No major creases.
  • Good
Rounded corners, surface wear, possible light crease. Still presentable and intact.
  • Poor
Heavy wear, creasing, or surface damage. Priced accordingly and clearly disclosed.

Graded cards

Graded cards are sealed in tamper-evident holders by professional grading companies and assigned a numeric grade. We sell graded slabs from:

  • PSA — Professional Sports Authenticator
  • SGC — Sportscard Guaranty Company
  • BGS — Beckett Grading Services
  • CGC — Certified Guaranty Company

Grades typically range from 1 to 10, with 10 being a pristine gem. The grade is shown on the listing along with the grading company and the slab’s serial photo.
